LXA4-mediated reduction in LPS-induced neutrophil transmigration was association with MMP-9 expression. Mice received MMP-9 (10 mg/kg) and CXCR2 inhibitors (2 mg/kg) 20 min prior to LPS (1 mg/kg) administration with or without LXA4 (0.1 µg/mouse) for 24 h. MMP-9 protein expression in the lung homogenates was measured by Western blot (A) and MMP-9 concentration in the BALF was measured by Elisa (B). Neutrophil numbers in the BALF (C) and the percentage of MMP-9 expression on the F4/80⁺ and F4/80⁻ cells (D) was measured by flow cytometry. The data are presented as the mean ± SEM, n =6- 9. *p<0.05, **p<0.01.
