Evaluation of splenic parasite load by quantitative PCR (qPCR) technique. L. infantum-infected BALB/c mice (n = 12 per group) were treated and, 15 days post-treatment, animals (n = 6 per group) were euthanized, their spleen collected and the parasite load was estimated by qPCR technique. Results are expressed as the number of parasites per total DNA. Bars indicate the mean ± standard deviation of the groups.
