Figure 1

XBP1 interference restrains cell migration and invasion abilities of ESCC cells. (A) The relative protein expression of XBP1 was determined in ESCC tumor specimens and paired non-tumor specimens by Western blot assay and IHC assay. The relative level of XBP1 protein was examined in a panel of four ESCC cell lines (Eca109, KYSE150, KYSE180 and KYSE450) and normal esophageal cell line HET-1A by Western blot assay. (BE) Eca109 and KYSE150 cells were transfected with si-NC or si-XBP1. (B) The protein expression of XBP1 was determined by Western blot assay. (C) Wound healing assay was performed to analyze the relative migration rate of transfected ESCC cells. (D) Transwell migration assay was conducted to analyze the number of migrated cells to assess cell migration ability. (E) Cell invasion number was analyzed in transwell invasion assay to assess cell invasion ability. **P<0.01, ***P<0.001.
