Effect of protein kinase A (PKA) inhibitors on the chymotrypsin-like activity of the sperm proteasome at the onset of human sperm capacitation. (A) Sperm aliquots were incubated under capacitating conditions for 0, 1, 10, 15, 30 or 60 min with 0.1% v/v DMSO (black bars) or with 50 μM H89 (white bars). Then, the chymotrypsin-like activity was evaluated using the fluorogenic substrate N-succinyl-Leu-Leu-Val-Tyr-7-amino-4-methylcoumarin (Suc-LLVY-AMC). ***P < 0.001 versus corresponding control, N = 8.
