　Pool X of DEAE chromatogram (Fig. 1A) was concentrated and fractionated by Shodex OHpak SB-804 HQ gel filtration column. Fractions were collected and HA content in each fraction was measured by ELISA like assay using HABP. Solid circles, HA fraction from DEAE chromatography of hot water extract of salmon nasal cartilage (pool X); open circles, HA fraction from DEAE chromatography of 4 M GdnHCl-extract of salmon nasal cartilage as a control.
