1‐locus 2‐drive TARE. (a) In the 1‐locus 2‐drive system, two TARE drive alleles (a and b) are situated at the same locus. Each targets a different essential but haplosufficient gene while providing rescue for the other drive allele's target. (b) The time at which a TARE‐based drive with a GE promoter is expected to reach 99% of individuals in the population in our simulation model with varying drive‐carrying individual introduction frequency and drive fitness.
