Measured T2 relaxation time constants of 600 mM thermally or 25 mM hyperpolarized [1-13C]pyruvate at 7 T and 1 T, respectively. Despite no clear dependency on pH being detectable for both measurement conditions, there is a moderate to strong correlation between T2 and pH in whole blood with the relaxation time constant being shortened at higher pH values.
