The application developer can manage software updates by simply publishing snapshots of relevant storage resources. At instance boot, those snapshots are used to create user’s instance. Because of the separation of instance pieces into logical units, created resources can be used in read-only mode and thus released upon instance termination, thus reducing infrastructure requirements.
