HEK-LR cells stably expressing LRAT-CFP and RPE65-GFP were plated in T25 flasks at 105 cells/ml and grown for 24 h before DMSO (CTL), IP-DHA (40 and 80 µM), or EMX (40 µM) was added. Cells were cultured for 24 h and incubated with 10 µM atROL for the last 24 h. Normal-phase HPLC was used to analyze the retinoid extracts from the cells. Data are presented as the mean ± SEM. ***n = 3 independent experiments with each treatment performed in triplicate. One-way ANOVA Kruskal–Wallis test with Dunn’s multiple comparison test: p < 0.001 EMX vs. DMSO. Black dots represent LRAT activity, gray dots represent RPE65 isomerase activity.
