Mitochondria were isolated from wild-type (WT) and endothelial NO synthase knockout (eNOS-KO) mice (n = 6 mice for SIN-1 and n = 5 mice for FeTMPyP) brains, treated with SIN-1 (50 µmol/L) or FeTMPyP (2.5 µmol/L), and mitochondrial membrane potential (ψm) was measured fluorometrically using rhodamine 123 dye. Data are presented as means ± SE and analyzed by repeated-measures two-way ANOVA. Values of P < 0.05 were considered to be statistically significant.
