BM2 swarm plates containing 1018 or water only were inoculated with 1 μl of planktonic cells suspended at an OD₆₀₀ of 0.4–0.6 in BM2 and then incubated for 20 h at 37°C. Mean and standard error of the mean are shown. One-way ANOVA followed by Dunn’s correction was used to determine statistical significance. *** P < 0.001, **** P < 0.0001. Each result was obtained from at least three independent biological replicates.
