Flow chart of the proposed GST-SFK method introduced in this study. Major steps of the GST-SFK can be outlined as follow: (I) acquire a 2D shear wave particle velocity motion data (x, t) at the ARF focal depth; (II) transform 2D spatiotemporal data into 3D time-frequency-space domain (t, f, x) using Eq. (5); (III) calculate P function and its amplitude using Eqs. (7)–(8); (IV) search for a maximum amplitude of Λ(u, f, k) over all steering group velocities, u, to obtain the frequency-wavenumber pairs K(f, k), using Eq. (9). Next, calculate the dispersion curves utilizing K(f, k) and using the formula c(f) = f/k.
