Loss of Slit1 does not increase apoptosis in β cells in vivo. Pancreatic sections belonging to LepOb/Ob, Slit1GFP/GFP, and LepOb/Ob;Slit1GFP/GFP animals were assayed for apoptosis using TUNEL (gray) and counterstained for insulin to identify islets.
