The overlapping parts of the circles represent the intersections of the corresponding comparisons. The number in each region indicates the number of differential metabolites in the corresponding set. The data indicated that three metabolites were consistently significantly different during the development of SI-AKI. These three metabolites, malic acid, methionine sulfoxide and petroselinic acid, are potential biomarkers for SI-AKI.
