Study name	A multi‐center clinical trial of safety and efficacy of urgent‐start peritoneal dialysis in ESRD patients
Methods	Country: China Type of study/design: multicentre, prospective, RCT Time frame (year of study): October 2016 and August 2018 Duration of follow‐up: 12 months
Participants	Inclusion criteria ESKD patients who need urgent‐start dialysis (urgent‐start dialysis is defined as ESKD patients who required initiation of dialysis in 2 weeks without pre‐established functional vascular access or a PD catheter) Patients who signs a informed consent form 18 to 75 years Exclusion criteria Patients with severe pulmonary oedema Severe respiratory insufficiency Severe hypertension (DBP > 120 mmHg) Hyperkalaemia (> 6.5 mmol/L) Patients with a history of abdominal operation within 6 months Patients with abdominal skin cellulitis, celiac‐pleural leakage, and peritonitis Patients with malignancy Mental disorder patients Pregnant patients
