Methods	Country: Brazil Type of study/design: prospective observational study Time frame (year of study): 2017 to 2018 Duration of follow‐up: 6 months
Participants	Inclusion criteria CKD patients stage or stages 4 with abrupt worsening requiring dialysis immediately followed or not by nephrologists prior to KRT indication Exclusion criteria Transitions between HD and PD Patients with functional arteriovenous fistula entering HD Patients with functional PD access implanted at least 48 h before the first use Patient or family trained in PD and/or with the right adequacy of the home
