Effects of camptothecin (CPT) on the pathological injury of colon tissues in mice with DSS-induced ulcerative colitis (UC). Colon tissue samples were collected from the (a) control group, (b) CPT (1.5 mg/kg) group, (c) DSS group, (d) DSS+CPT (0.5 mg/kg) group, (e) DSS+CPT (1.0 mg/kg) group, and (f) DSS+CPT (1.5 mg/kg) group and stained with H&E. (g) Disease activity index and (h) colon length of the different groups. The mean disease activity index of colon tissues was determined according to a previously described three-point scale.
