Brain tumors are complex biological systems. There are numerous different cell types present in human and mouse brain tumors that each impact on tumor development, growth and response to therapy. In addition, there is cross talk between the various signaling pathways within cancer cells and their microenvironment that may limit the utility of biologically targeted monotherapies.
