(I) First meiosis and formation of tetrads, (II) microspore release, (III) microspore during interphase, (IV) microspore undergoing the first pollen mitosis (PMI) and trafficked fluorescent oDNA granules (pointed out with the arrows), (V) formation of a generative cell (GC) and vegetative cell (VC), and (VI) mature pollen and cytoplasmic DNA decay and formation of the final MGU before anthesis.
