FIG 2

LSDV inoculation results of eight calves in a spectrum of infectiousness. Levels of viral DNA in blood (log10 copies/ml; first column) and skin (log10 copies/mg; second column) of the inoculated calves at different days postchallenge were quantified by qPCR. Based on the viral DNA levels in blood (red) or skin (magenta), the corresponding probability of transmission from bovine to insect (“infectiousness”) was calculated using a dose-response relationship (third column). Lines and shading show the posterior median and 95% credible intervals for the probability, respectively. The numbers to the right of each panel indicate the serial numbers of the calves.
