Broad ancestry represented in the 76 Alzheimer’s disease GWAS that are part of the NHGRI-EBI GWAS catalogue. By including the different ancestries within each stage of a study (Supplementary Table 3), this plot provides a clearer view of the ancestries represented in Alzheimer’s disease GWAS to date. We can see that the representation of European ancestry is greater in Alzheimer’s disease GWAS compared to all GWAS.5 Alzheimer’s disease GWAS appear to have a greater representation of African ancestry compared to GWAS overall, but there is still a large percentage of studies with ancestry not reported.
