Knockdown of FKBP5 inhibited growth of KTC-1 tumor cells in vivo. (a) Suppression of papillary thyroid carcinoma tumor growth in mice injected with cells transfected with FKBP5 shRNA (n=4) or scrambled shRNA (n=4) for 49 days. Tumor size was measured (left) and tumors were imaged at the time of tumor removal (right). (b) FKBP5 expression in the two groups determined by immunohistochemistry. Six fields per group were chosen at random and counted under a microscope at ×400 magnification. Representative images and statistical analysis are shown. Evaluation was not blinded. (c) Western blot detection of FKBP5 expression in the indicated tumor specimens. Expression levels of β-actin and FKBP5 were evaluated using ImageJ with integrated optical density based on the results of western blotting.
