Table 2:

Location and Talairach coordinates of significant clusters of GM volume loss in patients with h-ET or a-ET compared with controls, when total GM or TIV was included in the ANCOVA*

Pcorrected Cluster (κ) Talairach Coordinates (x/y/z) Location

*

GM volume loss in the h-ET and a-ET groups relative to controls, accounting for differences in total GM and TIV. A threshold of Pcorrected < .001, corrected for multiple comparisons, is used to identify the most significant peaks. Data analyses have been further corrected for age and sex distribution.

The statistical threshold is released (P < .01, uncorrected for multiple comparisons) to detect subtle morphologic changes in the a-ET group.
