Phylogenetic tree of VvROMT and related plant OMT-I enzymes. The inner ring of labels corresponds to the abbreviated name of each enzyme and the outer ring shows its regioselectivity. The color is related to its preferred phenylpropanoid substrate (chemical structure example is shown at the right). The tree was inferred by the Maximum Likelihood method with MEGA X software and reliability was assessed by bootstrapping (1000 iterations); only values greater than 60 are shown. The enzymes HiOMT3 and ZmOMT in grey are still uncharacterized. PIOMT, demethylpuromycin-OMT was used as an outgroup. Pink stars represent promiscuous enzymes also active on stilbenes.
