Serum levels of SZR72, kynurenine, and kynurenic acid (KYNA). (A): SZR72 levels were highest at 1 h after asphyxia reflecting the effect of bolus drug administration, then they were gradually decreased and stabilized in 50–100 µmol/L range. (B): Kynurenine levels were similar among the different groups at baseline (BL), and they were largely unaffected by asphyxia, except there was a statistically significant elevation in the VEH group at 24 h.
