Mild acute scaphoid oedema. The STIR sequence of the MRI (left) showed a small peripheral area of oedema in the region of the waist of the scaphoid. This was difficult to detect with confidence on the DECT with calcium/water filter (middle) due to the ‘blooming’ artefact from the bony cortex. No fracture seen on the CT component (right)
