Pep-1 labeling of mitochondria reduces plasma levels of inflammatory cytokines. Plasma was separated from blood collected after 3 months of treatment. Cytokines of granulocyte colony-stimulating factor (G-CSF), interleukin (IL)-1a, IL-4, IL-1b, IL-10, IL-12 p70, interferon gamma (IFN-g) and IL-17A were selected due to involvement of grafted mitochondrial regulation in Parkinson’s disease rats, shown in our previous study7. +P < 0.05, vs. WT; *P < 0.05, vs. Sham; #P < 0.05, vs. Mito, WT wild-type controls, Sham vehicle alone, Mito mitochondrial alone, P-Mito Pep-1-labelled mitochondria.
