Combination treatment with mitogen-activated protein kinase-dependent recombinant vaccinia virus (MDRVV) (CD/UPRT-LG) and 5-fluorocytosine (5-FC) increases the therapeutic effect in a mouse model harboring liver metastasis caused by human pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma cells. (B) The nude mice with liver metastasis were intravenously injected with 1 × 107 PFU of MDRVV (CD/UPRT-LG) on days 0 and 8. Next, 12.5 mg 5-FC was injected intraperitoneally into the mice every day from days 14 to 36, except on days 21 and 29. Survival curves of mice were generated by Kaplan–Meier analysis (n = 6–7) and p values were determined using the log-rank test.
