Populations were subdivided into CD4+ T-helper cells and CD8+ cytotoxic T cells. Both cell types were further differentiated into naïve (CD45RA+/CCR7+), central memory (CD45RA−/CCR7+), effector memory (CD45RA−/CCR7−), and effector memory re-expressing CD45RA (CD45RA+/CCR7−) cells.
