The mechanisms of development of melanoma. In BRAF wild type melanoma, RAS is one of the non-BRAF oncogenes activated in melanoma and promotes cellular functions in melanoma, including the promotion of cell growth and apoptosis. They activate downstream signaling pathways MEK/ERK, MAPK, and the PI3K/AKT pathways. In the BRAF mutation melanoma, BRAFV600 mutations activate the downstream pathway of MAPK and exert the development and progression of melanoma.
