TABLE 4.

Computed Tomography Findings Among Subjects With Available Imaging

CT Angiography—Pulmonary Embolism Radiographic Findings
Finding Early Intubation Cohort, n = 6 Late Intubation Cohort, n = 4
Pulmonary embolism 6 (85%) 1 (25%)
Segments with dilated tortuous peripheral vessels 2 (0.8–4.5) 5 (2.5–6.8)
Number of segments/d from symptom onset to CT (segments/d) 0.07 (0.2–0.5) 0.26 (0.2–0.6)

All values are reported as n (%) or median (interquartile range). Findings were characterized based on presence of radiographically confirmed macrovascular embolic material or radiographically confirmed tortuous dilated peripheral vessels. The number of dilated segments recorded were standardized to the number of days between symptom onset and date of image acquisition.
