independent “t” test;

**

Mann Whitney U test;

p value less than 0.05 is considered statistically significant.

The continuous variables in the two groups i.e., cases and controls were subjected to test of normality. The non-normally distributed variables in two groups (cases and controls) was compared using Mann Whitney U test; and normally distributed variables were analysed using t test. Hemoglobin (Hb), white blood cell count (WBC), hematocrit (Hct), red blood cell count (RBC), mean corpuscular volume (MCV), mean corpuscular Hb (MCH), mean corpuscular Hb concentration (MCHC), red cell distribution width (RDW-CV, RDW-SD), absolute neutrophil count (ANC), absolute lymphocyte count (ALC), absolute monocyte count (AMC), absolute eosinophil count (AEC), Mean platelet Volume (MPV), platelet distribution width (PDW), plateletcrit (PCT), platelet large cell ratio (PLCR), Erythrocyte sedimentation rate (ESR).
