Impact of acute alcohol intoxication on Toll-like receptor 4 (TLR4) surface presentation on monocytes. Percentage and mean intensity expression of TLR4 on CD14⁺ monocytes (A, E) and the classical (CD14^brightCD16^-) (B, F), intermediate (CD14^brightCD16⁺) (C, G) and non-classical (CD14^dimCD16⁺) (D, H) monocyte subsets were determined in blood of healthy volunteers (n=22) before (T0) and 2 (T2), 4 (T4), 6 (T6), 24 (T24) and 48 (T48) hours after starting the alcohol consumption.
