Notes: The grid of 9,476,802 cells was adapted to a fine grid of 16,241,731 cells (a 42% increase) to test grid independence. Spray nozzle velocity was taken from the manufacturer’s specification of 11 cfm: V = Q/A = 11 cfm/0.00304 m2. Aircraft surfaces and hangar wall, floor, and ceiling were modeled as no-slip walls, except that for the unbalanced flow condition, the ceiling was modeled as a zero-gauge pressure boundary.
