Mechanistic model showing the regulation of ovarian cancer progression by PLA2G3. Cancer cells show high lipogenic activity that promotes tumor progression. High levels of PLA2G3 are associated with reduced primary ciliogenesis and increased LD biogenesis in the cancer cells and thus promote the metastatic phenotype. Both PFK158 induced autophagy-mediated targeted degradation as well as the specific genetic knockdown of PLA2G3 restored primary ciliogenesis, sensitized cells to platinum drug treatment and attenuated the associated metastatic phenomenon
