For continuous variables, differences between the CHD and the normal group were tested by t test and for categorical variables by the χ2 test. Prior to testing, skewed variables were log transformed. For continuous variables, data are presented as mean±SD or median (median absolute deviation). Absolute prebeta‐1 HDL is given as apolipoprotein AI content in milligrams per deciliter.
