Fig. 2 — Levels of inflammatory cytokines in healthy controls and in COVID-19 patients at admission who did or did not develop ARDS. The levels of all 4 cytokines were significantly higher among ARDS patients than in the control group (a–d). The ARDS group had higher levels of IL-6, IL-8, and IL-10 than the non-ARDS group (a–c). Compared to control group, the non-ARDS group had higher levels of IL-6 and TNF-α (a, d). (*p < 0.05, **p < 0.01, ***p < 0.001)
