Tissue-specific effects of spargel on chill coma recovery. (A) Muscle-specific knockdown of spargel significantly increased chill coma recovery time (n ≥ 44 each group; p < 0.0001; log-rank test). (B) Overexpression of spargel in muscle did not affect recovery time. Neither (C) knockdown nor (D) overexpression of spargel in nervous system affected chill coma recovery. (E) Knockdown of spargel in the fat body significantly increased time to recovery (n ≥ 49 each group; p = 0.01; log-rank test).
