Legend: An example analogy question (ocp:conjunctiva::pseudoexfoliation::???) is depicted in a two-dimensional principal component projection of word embedding space. The correct word for analogy completion is lens, whereas the randomly chosen incorrect word is neuritis. Cosine similarity is calculated between (pseudoexfoliation - ocp + conjunctiva) and either lens or neuritis and the closer word in embedding space is chosen as the answer. In this example, (A) PubMed, (B) EHR, and (C) BioWordVec word embeddings identify the correct answer while (D) GloVe chooses the wrong answer.
