Singh 2015.
Methods | RCT |
Participants | Women with >1 previous failed IVF attempts |
Interventions |
Study group: endometrial scratching will be done once from days 14‐18 of menstrual cycle within the same IVF cycle. Anterior and posterior walls of endometrium will be scratched gently by a 4‐mm disposable Karman’s cannula inserted through the cervical os, and endometrial tissue will be sent for genetic analysis. Oral antibiotic ciprofloxacin 500 mg will be given for 5 days after the procedure Control group: no intervention. To avoid the possible confounding effect of antibiotic on IVF success, the control group will be administered the same antibiotic |
Outcomes | Live birth, miscarriage However, the data appear to be inconsistent as there is a much higher implantation rate in the intervention arm yet a lower live birth rate. It appears the ongoing pregnancies may refer to pregnancies which were ongoing at the end of the trial (i.e. could be counted as a live birth); however this could not be confirmed with the authors. |
