The spaceplate advances the focal plane of the image by Δ = −3.4 mm relative to the glycerol alone. The scale bar is the same length in all the images. This result illustrates that the spaceplate does not change the magnification, i.e., it does not introduce any focusing power. Note that the yellow tint of the recorded images is due to the illumination.
