Binding of HN to Aβ reduces the prefibrillar and fibrillar oligomers in the absence or presence of AChE, reducing apoptosis and increasing cell survival. IGFBP-3 binds HN and blocks its interaction with Aβ, resulting in increased prefibrillar and fibrillar oligomer formation and leading to increased apoptosis and decreased cell survival.
