(B) Calculation of the connection strength between pairs of spines, which is proportional to their physical closeness and can be measured as the inverse distance between the spines along the dendrite (e.g., d36 is the distance between spines 3 and 6, and the respective connection strength is 1/d36). (C) The resulting graph can be represented as an adjacency matrix, where each element in the matrix represents the strength of the connection between the nodes in the corresponding row and column.
