Functional connectivity during four different WM load conditions (N = 177). Correlation matrices were computed using Pearson’s correlations among 611 seed regions on the cerebral cortex covering all 7 Yeo networks. A core pattern characterized by strong within-network connectivity is preserved across different load conditions. Notable changes in connectivity within the ventral attention network, as well as between the ventral attention and default mode networks have been observed.
