This educational resource on antimicrobial resistance (AMR) provides two parts. The first one aims at improving awareness and understanding of the basic principles of AMR and the impact AMR has on individuals and society, in other words, why AMR is a major public concern. The second part elaborates on different interventions that address the factors contributing to AMR across the health system. It has been developed as part of the USAID’s Bureau of Global Health eLearning centre and intends to serve a wide audience. The materials are available in English, French, Spanish, Portuguese and Arabic, and the content comes from different references (published research work or reports) providing evidence-based information, which includes citing documents from the WHO.

There are useful graphics or visual aids summarizing the basic AMR principles that facilitate the reader’s understanding. In addition to the reading on the website after creating an account, there is the offline option providing files to be downloaded in different formats, including PDF. There is no interactive content. This resource may be useful to both experts and non-experts in AMR or antimicrobial stewardship fields.
