Microerosions in the terminal ileum in patients with and without Food Allergy. Microerosions, defined as an exposure of the lamina propria to the lumen with multiple cells being shed per site, were found in 25 out of 27 patients (92.6%) with FA. In the non-FA group, 8 out of 33 patients exhibited microerosions in the terminal ileum (24.2%). Differences in the prevalence of microerosions between patients with and without FA were statistically significant (p < 0.0001). Red segment of each bar: percentage of patients with microerosions, green segment of each bar: percentage of patients without microerosions.
