Heat tolerance measures from the literature re-calculated to the temperature resulting in heat failure after a 1-h exposure (sCTmax (1 h)). Heat tolerance measurements from both dynamic and static assays were obtained from the literature for nine ectothermic species and used as input for the associated R-scripts. If multiple measures of the same assay type were available in a publication (triangles), these measurements were used for TDT curve parameterization and then calculate sCTmax (1 h). If only a single measurement was available (circle) an estimated value of z was supplied to create a TDT curve for calculation of sCTmax (1 h) (see main text). Connected points represent publications that provided both dynamic and static measures and colour indicates acclimation temperature.
