(A) Accidental injection of a filler product in the variable location of (either) the supraorbital; supratrochlear; and/or dorsal nasal artery. (B) As the pressure of the filler syringe is higher than the blood pressure, the filler product is pushed in a retrograde direction toward the ophthalmic artery. (C) As soon as the pressure on the filler syringe is released, the filler product is transported in an antegrade direction through the central retinal and/or short and long posterior ciliary artery, causing ischemia of the retina.
