A threshold of >10,000 memory B cells per 106 PBMC can increase the proportion of reactive donors. This criterion would have reduced the number of donors to be subjected to functional evaluation to 46 of 101 donors; 22 (48%) of these PBMC samples would have been repeatedly reactive and the proportion of non-responders in pre-testing could have been reduced from 70 to 52%.
