Heated aerosolized nicotine delivery systems (HANDS) include e-cigarettes and heated tobacco products. Percentages are unweighted.

aUse of JUUL was recorded from July 2018 (n = 1760). Frequency could not be assessed as all JUUL users had used combinations of products.

bUse of heated tobacco products (HTPs) was recorded from December 2016 (n = 3520). Frequency could not be assessed as all but one HTP user used combinations of products.

cParticipants who used combinations of products or NRT were excluded.

dRR represent risk ratio.

eThe high prevalence of JUUL use among never smoking HANDS users was primarily driven by data from a single month in a specific local authority area. Therefore, it likely represents a localised effect.
